Despite the familiar name, the models have no technical connection to the classic Damas of 30 years ago. The vehicles are based on the Chinese Wuling Hongguang V platform, which has noticeably changed their dimensions and design. The manufacturer is UzAuto.
The new models have become significantly larger than their predecessor: length is 4,425 mm, and the wheelbase is 2,850 mm. The engine lineup includes two naturally aspirated gasoline engines: a 1.2-liter unit producing 82 hp with a 5-speed manual transmission, and a 1.5-liter unit producing 95 hp with a 6-speed manual. Both versions are designed to carry up to 650 kg of cargo, making them full-fledged representatives of the light commercial vehicle segment.
Prices look very attractive: from 134.5 to 154.2 million soums, which is equivalent to approximately 850,000-973,000 rubles. Thus, the new Damas models have effectively occupied the niche of affordable delivery vans and cargo-passenger vans for small businesses.
