In the country, cases have become more frequent in which fraudsters call elderly citizens and, under the pretext of an allegedly upcoming pension increase, try to obtain personal data and bank card details. The criminals present themselves as bank employees or Pension Fund staff and claim that without providing this information, the pension recalculation will not take place.
Fraudsters demand passport details, bank card number, PINFL, or a code from an SMS. The Pension Fund emphasizes that its employees never request such information by phone and urges citizens not to fall for the tricks of criminals.
Pensioners and their relatives are asked to remain vigilant: do not disclose confidential information to strangers and, in the event of suspicious calls, contact the Pension Fund helpline at 1271 or the internal affairs authorities at 102.
