The President of Uzbekistan has approved the creation of a four-stage ecosystem to support startups — from the birth of an idea to entering export markets. According to the decree of February 11, it is planned to implement up to 5,000 projects and attract $2 billion in venture investments by 2030. Participants of the "Digital Startups" program will receive the status of IT Park residents, and startup idea competitions will be held in schools.
The document provides for ambitious benchmarks: 500 startups should reach a valuation of over $1 million, 100 — more than $10 million, and 25 companies — exceed capitalization of $100 million. In addition, it is planned to create more than 20 thousand jobs, commercialize 2,000 youth initiatives and bring at least 400 projects to international markets.
The ecosystem will include the stages of idea formation, development, launch and scaling. $160 million and 130 billion soums will be allocated to finance the program in 2026–2027. The authorities expect that comprehensive support will create a sustainable innovation environment and accelerate the development of technological entrepreneurship.
