ACWA Power's solar power plant in the Nurobod district of the Samarkand region has received the prestigious international Project Finance International (PFI) Award in the Central Asia Deal of the Year category. The awards ceremony took place on February 19, 2026, in London.

The complex includes a 1000 MW solar power plant, two battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a total capacity of 668 MW, a 500 kV substation, and 220–500 kV power transmission lines extending 441 km. The project is valued not only as a large-scale source of renewable energy but also as an important step in the development of energy storage infrastructure and backbone networks.

Along with ACWA Power, Stone City Energy projects in the Surkhandarya region and Masdar in the Bukhara region received international recognition. The PFI awards highlight the transparency of Uzbekistan's investment environment and the compliance of energy and infrastructure initiatives with international standards, strengthening the country's reputation on the global financial stage.
