As part of his visit to Uzbekistan, Andreas Götenberg, Executive Director of the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT), held talks with representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. The main topic was the expansion of scientific and educational cooperation, the launch of joint programs and the increase of the institutional capacity of the country's universities.
The parties discussed the creation of joint research projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital technologies and innovation, as well as the integration of Uzbek universities and research institutes into European research and innovation ecosystems. Special attention was paid to academic mobility, training of talented personnel and the introduction of "university-industry" cooperation models based on Swedish experience.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to promote promising projects that will allow universities in Uzbekistan to actively participate in the global educational and scientific space. Both sides intend to create conditions for the development of advanced digital competencies and the implementation of innovative investment initiatives in the scientific field.
