President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed to begin major repairs within three months on the 178-kilometer highway connecting Uzbekistan with Afghanistan and Tajikistan. This road has not been repaired for almost 30 years, and its renovation should significantly speed up the movement of goods and passengers, as well as improve safety on the route. Simultaneously, modernization of other key sections is planned, including converting 111 km of the Baysun — Denau road to cement concrete pavement, which will halve the journey.
Significant changes are expected in the region's transport infrastructure: the "Toshguzor — Baysun — Kumkurgan" section will be adapted for high-speed rail traffic, and the 103-kilometer "Kumkurgan — Kudukli" section will be electrified. There are also plans to supply modern high-speed trains, open air routes Termez — Istanbul and Termez — Dubai, and allocate 125 new buses for local routes, which will improve transport accessibility for hundreds of thousands of residents.
In addition to transport, the authorities will address social facilities: by the end of the year, 56,000 residents of the Muzrabat district will receive centralized drinking water supply for the first time, and construction of sewerage networks will begin in five districts of the region. These measures are aimed at the integrated development of the region and improving the quality of life of the population, linking infrastructure projects with economic growth and convenience for residents.
