Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are preparing for an industrial breakthrough

Joint projects in metallurgy, agro-industrial complex, electrical engineering

A meeting was held in Tashkent between the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir.

The main topic of negotiations was joint projects in metallurgy, agro-industrial complex, electrical engineering, textile industry, pharmaceuticals and production of building materials. The parties agreed to continue working on the preparation of industrial facilities with the subsequent launch of production.

In 2025, trade turnover between the countries reached $912.3 million, an increase of 30% compared to the previous year, with exports amounting to $683 million and imports to $229.3 million. More than 500 joint ventures are already operating in the two countries, including 386 in Uzbekistan with Tajik participation and 116 in Tajikistan with Uzbek capital.

Both sides noted the high potential for further expansion of cooperation and confirmed their readiness for consistent implementation of the agreed projects. This creates conditions for strengthening industrial cooperation and sustainable economic growth in the region.
