The Central Bank of Uzbekistan proposes to consider sudden movements of funds in the accounts of children under 16 years of age and large cash credits from 1.03 billion UZS within 30 days as suspicious. Banks will be required to analyze such transactions more carefully, including transfers to countries with increased risk. The discussion of amendments to the internal control rules to combat the legalization of criminal proceeds will last until April 4.
For minors, the restrictions are related to the fact that persons under 16 years of age cannot independently make financial decisions and rarely have large turnovers. Rapid receipts or write-offs may indicate the use of accounts by third parties, "nominal" accounts, or the participation of children in fraudulent schemes.
In addition, "high-risk" transactions will include cash deposits in amounts from 2500 BRV (1.03 billion UZS) per month. Such transactions, both one-time and recurring, are subject to additional monitoring, as they may be related to the legalization of criminal proceeds or an attempt to hide funds.
