The Central Bank of Uzbekistan reported a sharp increase in the use of escrow accounts in Uzbekistan. In the period from April 1 to April 7 alone, the total number of transactions, including completed and ongoing ones, reached 6156, which indicates the rapid spread of this tool.
The main share falls on transactions with transport — 3904 operations, while on real estate — 2252. Of the total number, 5383 transactions have already been completed, and 773 are in the process of being processed. The greatest activity was recorded in Tashkent, as well as in the Fergana and Samarkand regions.
The regulator notes that the popularity of escrow accounts is explained by their security: funds are reserved until the terms of the transaction are fulfilled, reducing risks for both parties. This mechanism increases the transparency of settlements and is gradually becoming the standard for the sale and purchase of real estate and cars.
