New bypass road opened in Samarkand region

For 40 billion soums

A new 4 km long bypass road has been put into operation in the Ishtykhan district of the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan. The project was implemented by regional authorities and is aimed at relieving traffic congestion in the district center, as well as improving connections with the village of Mitan and the M-37 highway.

The opening of the facility was attended by the leadership of the region. According to calculations, the new road will reduce traffic jams by about 40% and speed up the transit of goods in the direction of neighboring regions. The construction cost amounted to 40 billion soums, which reflects the scale of infrastructure work in the region.

The project infrastructure includes a bridge 73 meters long and 15 meters wide, bicycle and pedestrian paths 3.5 km long, two bus stops and 155 solar-powered lamps. The development of the road network is also part of a broader modernization program for the region, for which significant government investments were previously allocated.
