JSC «Uzbekneftegaz» has signed an agreement with the Chinese company CNPC XIBU Drilling Engineering Company Limited for the drilling of 30 exploration wells in the Ustyurt region. The project is scheduled for the period 2026–2028 and is aimed at expanding exploration activities and increasing the efficiency of hydrocarbon production.
The contract involves attracting the engineering experience of the Chinese side, which has significant expertise in the field of complex drilling. We are talking about work in new promising areas with depths from 5,500 to 6,000 meters, which makes the project technologically complex and capital-intensive.
The main task is to search for hydrocarbon reserves in formations with abnormally high pressure and temperature. The cooperation also plans to introduce modern technological solutions and exchange experience, which should strengthen the technical base of the industry and improve the quality of geological exploration in the country.
