Fergana Valley gets a train with Wi-Fi and a speed of 120 km/h

The new electric train connected key cities in the region and launched an updated transport system

A new railway connection has been launched in Uzbekistan, uniting Kokand, Namangan, Andijan, and Margilan into a single circular line with a length of 324 km. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made the first trip along the route with public representatives, traveling from Kokand to Margilan.

The project was implemented as part of the program for the development of regional passenger transportation until 2030 and is aimed at strengthening the transport connectivity of the densely populated Fergana Valley. The new route should simplify the movement of residents, businesses, and tourists, as well as reduce the load on roads.

The train was manufactured at the Tashkent Passenger Car Construction and Repair Plant. It includes 6 carriages and is designed for 586 seats, reaching speeds of up to 120 km/h. The train is equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, USB ports, spaces for passengers with reduced mobility, and bicycle racks, and its safety systems comply with international standards.

The ticket price is 15,000 soums, and the daily capacity reaches 1.5 thousand passengers. Authorities note that the launch of the line could stimulate the development of services, hotels, and small businesses along the route, enhancing the region's economic activity.
