In the first quarter of 2026, Uzbekistan produced 108,769 passenger cars, an 11.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Truck production rose by 28.7% to 1,178 units, up from 915 a year earlier. Chinese brands showed the largest growth: BYD production increased by 75.5% (5,111 units), Haval by 58% (2,978 units). Production of specialized equipment increased by 61.5% to 11,998 units.
Among mass-produced models, Cobalt led the growth with a 19.2% increase (38,397 units). KIA production grew by 15.5% (7,105 units), and Tracker by 2.2% (10,746 units). At the same time, production of Onix decreased (minus 24%, 8,950 units), Damas (minus 4%, 21,503 units), and Chery (minus 0.8%, 1,981 units).
The share of Chinese brands (BYD, Haval, and Chery) in the total volume of passenger car production increased from 6.8% to 9.3%. The total output of these brands amounted to 10,070 units. Thus, the structure of the automotive industry continues to shift towards an increasing share of Chinese manufacturers due to localization.
