In the first quarter of 2026, Georgia solidified its position among the largest suppliers of used cars to Russia. According to an Autostat report, 82,300 used vehicles were imported into the country from January to March – a 21% increase compared to the previous year.
Georgia's share accounted for 2.8%, or 2,305 vehicles. The main flow is still provided by Japan (57.7%) and China (23.6%), followed by South Korea (7.4%) and Belarus (3.7%). Germany, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan are also on the list with smaller figures.
Toyota leads among brands, and the Honda Fit became the most popular model. Meanwhile, in 2025, Georgia's share in imports reached 7.4%, indicating the country's significant role in supply chains, despite previously imposed restrictions on the export and re-export of cars to Russia by the US, EU, and UK, as well as partial bans in Georgia itself.
