Uzbekistan and Japan discussed expanding partnership in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and human capital development. Negotiations took place between the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan and JICA representatives.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side presented the key directions of the “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy, including plans to increase IT service exports to $5 billion and train up to 300,000 specialists in technology. The growth of the IT sector was specifically noted: in 2025, exports exceeded $1 billion, and the number of resident companies in IT Park Uzbekistan approached 4,000.

The development of educational programs in AI was also discussed, including the AI Leaders initiative and the translation of thousands of online courses into Uzbek. One of the key projects could be the creation of the Japan–Uzbekistan Digital AI Center, which will train specialists in artificial intelligence, digital engineering, and language technologies.
