Uzbekistan Creative Park, a new project aimed at developing the creative economy and supporting entrepreneurs in creative industries, was presented in Tashkent. The presentation took place at the coworking space of the Uzbekistan Culture and Arts Development Foundation, and the concept itself was previously presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in February of this year.
According to the organizers, the project should help representatives of creative professions transition to a full-fledged business model, gain access to infrastructure, and special support measures. Within the framework of legislation, 15 directions are classified as creative industries, covering 142 types of activities – from design and architecture to video production and digital content.
A special tax regime is provided for Creative Park residents. Companies in the form of OOO will be able to pay a turnover tax at a rate of 4% without mandatory transition to VAT, as well as reduced rates for personal income tax and social tax up to 6%. For individual entrepreneurs, the 1% turnover rate remains, and self-employed individuals will also be able to work under a preferential regime with minimal tax burden. Applications for resident status will be reviewed within 15 days through a special platform, with the company required to derive at least 80% of its income from creative activities.
