In Uzbekistan, the total installed capacity of renewable energy facilities has reached 8 GW. According to official data, this is already significantly impacting the country's energy balance structure: the share of "green" generation has approached 30% of total electricity production, with solar and wind power plants accounting for the main increase.
Of the total volume, 5.6 GW comes from solar and wind energy, and another 2.4 GW from hydroelectric power plants. Since the beginning of the year, these stations have generated over 7.6 billion kWh of electricity, with solar and wind facilities alone producing over 4.7 billion kWh. By the end of 2025, their total generation reached 10.4 billion kWh, which significantly reduced natural gas consumption.
Authorities note that the development of renewable sources is aimed at gradually replacing traditional fuels and improving the efficiency of the energy system. In the long term, further scaling is planned: by 2030, the capacity of "green" generation should increase to 20 GW, and the country's technical potential is estimated to be significantly higher than current figures.
