Representatives of Uzbekistan and South Korea held talks in Seoul on developing cooperation in high-speed rail transport. The central topic of the meeting was the preparation of a feasibility study for a new high-speed line project between Tashkent and Samarkand.
The discussion was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, and the South Korean company Saman Corporation. The parties reviewed the current state of the project and agreed on further steps to prepare the final version of the feasibility study, taking into account the recommendations of the Export-Import Bank of Korea.
In addition to the Tashkent–Samarkand project, South Korean specialists continue to provide consulting support for the development of other promising main lines, including the Tashkent–Andijan and Tashkent–Termez routes. Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue joint work on major transport and infrastructure projects.
