In the capital of Uzbekistan, stable electricity supply has been fully restored to all categories of consumers after a large-scale technological failure at the "Yuksak" substation. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of the republic, specifying that emergency services completed restoration work and connected the last facilities on June 29 at 3:56 AM.
The incident occurred on the evening of June 28 at 8:45 PM on the territory of the "Yuksak" substation in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent. According to preliminary data, the cause was a technical malfunction in the 110 kV high-voltage network, which caused a chain reaction in the power system.
As a result of the accident, two gas turbine units at the Tashkent TPP with a total capacity of about 60 MW were automatically shut down. This led to temporary power outages for approximately 55 thousand subscribers.
The outages affected the Yakkasaray, Chilanzar, Mirabad, and Uchtepa districts of Tashkent, as well as part of the Zangiata district of the Tashkent region. Brief interruptions were also recorded at a number of small industrial enterprises.
According to energy experts, the scale of the incident accounted for about 6.2% of the total number of capital subscribers. Restoration work was carried out around the clock by specialists from the Tashkent branch of the "National Electric Grids" company, with phased connection of consumers until the system fully returned to normal operation.
