Uzbekistan is expanding its renewable energy support program: over 60 thousand citizens will receive subsidies for electricity generated by solar panels and supplied to the common energy system.
According to the Tax Committee, payments will be received by 60,193 participants of the "Solar Home" program. The total amount of subsidies will be 156.125 billion soums for the supply of 156.125 million kWh of electricity in April–May 2026.
The compensation amount is set at 1,000 soums for each kilowatt-hour of energy produced in excess of own consumption and supplied to the grid. The program has been in effect since April 2023 and aims to stimulate the installation of solar panels in private households.
The largest payments will be received by residents of the Khorezm and Bukhara regions, as well as Karakalpakstan – regions where distributed solar generation is actively developing.
Funds are received through the digital system of the tax service with the possibility of transfer to bank cards via the Soliq mobile application, which simplifies access to state subsidies.
