On August 24, a national media consumption study was launched in Uzbekistan, which will take place in all regions of the country, including rural areas. The organizers intend to find out what information sources residents use, how much they trust them, and how media habits are changing against the backdrop of the development of the internet, social networks, and artificial intelligence.
The project is being implemented by the Mass Communications Fund, the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan, and the Media Content Preparation Center under the Presidential Administration. The study will cover television, radio, print, and digital content. The data obtained will be analyzed taking into account the age, gender, and other characteristics of the participants.
Special attention will be paid to social networks and digital platforms, which are gradually becoming one of the main channels for obtaining information. At the same time, traditional media continue to adapt to digitalization and the spread of artificial intelligence technologies.

The survey will be conducted in the format of personal interviews with randomly selected respondents. The practical part of the work will be carried out by the Republican Center for Public Opinion Research "Ijtimoiy Fikr".
The project consists of two stages and will be completed by the end of 2026. Based on the results of the first stage, a National Report on Media Content Consumption will be prepared, which is planned to be presented to the public. Then, training seminars and information campaigns for journalists, youth, and press service employees will be held in the regions.
The results of the study can be used by media, advertisers, government and international organizations, as well as technology companies. The data obtained will help assess the effectiveness of various communication channels, adjust content policy, and identify the most in-demand information sources.
