Since the launch of UzIMEI in 2019, over 97.8 million IMEI codes have been registered in Uzbekistan, and registration payments have exceeded 3 trillion soums. Meanwhile, about 20.1 million devices were blocked due to lack of registration.

Almost half of all codes — 47.6 million — were registered automatically and free of charge in the first year of the system's operation. Importers registered 30.4 million codes, individuals — 19.03 million, and local manufacturers — about 779 thousand.

Samsung became the leader in the number of registered devices — 35.5 million IMEI. This is followed by Xiaomi with 18.1 million, Nokia — 7.7 million, Apple — 5.8 million, and Huawei — 2.4 million.

The majority of devices are smartphones: 72.5 million of them are registered. Another 20.3 million are feature phones, and 1.4 million are tablets.

For January–July 2026 alone, collections amounted to 459.6 billion soums. The authorities do not plan to cancel the fee yet, explaining this by the costs of maintaining and developing the system.

At the same time, 93% of mobile phones are now imported legally. Buyers of official devices are not required to pay separately for IMEI registration. The status of a phone can be checked by its IMEI code.
