UzAuto Motors announced the start of sales of the Chevrolet Equinox PHEV in Uzbekistan. The crossover is offered in two versions – Activ 80KM and Activ 120KM. The plug-in hybrid system allows charging the battery from an external power source and using the car primarily as an electric vehicle for daily commutes, while the gasoline engine engages to extend the range.

Depending on the trim, a 17 or 24 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery is installed. The Activ 80KM version can travel up to 80 km on electric power, the Activ 120KM up to 120 km, and the total range with a fully charged battery and full tank exceeds 1,000 km. The powertrain includes a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, an electric motor with 188 hp, and a two-speed DHT transmission.

Features include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, a surround-view camera, six airbags, and traffic sign recognition. The interior features two 11-inch screens, Apple CarPlay support, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and heated and ventilated front seats. The Chevrolet Equinox PHEV Activ 80KM costs 463.5 million soums, and the Activ 120KM costs 478.5 million soums.
