Representatives of Uzbekistan and NASA held negotiations within the framework of the 77th International Astronautical Congress IAC-2026 in Antalya. The meeting was attended by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, Uzcosmos Director Shukhrat Kadirov, and NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson. The parties discussed current priorities in the space sector and possible joint projects.
One of the key areas was the practical development of cooperation in space technologies and the use of satellite data. Participants considered prospects for Earth remote sensing, the implementation of research initiatives, and the training of qualified specialists for the space industry.

Separately, the parties discussed NASA's participation in the International Astronautical Congress IAC-2028, which is scheduled to take place in Samarkand. In particular, they talked about the possibility of presenting joint projects and scientific and technical developments at the forum. Following the meeting, Uzbekistan and NASA confirmed their interest in long-term cooperation and the implementation of new initiatives in the space sector.
