The expansion of energy infrastructure continues in areas of Uzbekistan's capital where industrial activity is rapidly growing. Construction has begun in the Yangikhayot district on a 160 MVA substation, which will become a key facility for providing electricity to the Yangi Avlod special industrial zone. The project aims to improve the stability of power supply for enterprises and the residential sector of the district, as well as to create an additional power reserve for future production.
The facility is equipped with two 80 MVA transformers each. To distribute the load, ten distribution points will be provided: one such point allows connecting about twenty objects. The project includes separate high-voltage cells for each resident, which minimizes the risk of emergency shutdowns and increases the reliability of power supply.
Currently, the construction of the main building of the substation and the design of distribution nodes are underway. The facility is scheduled for commissioning in the second quarter of 2026.
