Taxi fares in Uzbekistan continue to rise. According to the National Statistical Committee, the average cost of trips has increased by approximately 7% since the beginning of 2025. For city residents and those who regularly use taxis, this increase has already become noticeable in daily expenses.
In annual terms, the growth was even more noticeable: compared to the same period last year, fares rose by 12.2%. Experts note that several factors influence the price dynamics. In certain months, the cost of trips increases due to seasonal demand — holidays, vacations, and adverse weather conditions, as well as due to traffic jams, which increase travel time.
The costs of carriers also have a significant impact on fares. This refers to the increase in prices for fuel, car maintenance, and spare parts. As a result, the rise in taxi fares is seen as part of broader economic processes, and if current conditions persist, further price increases in the coming months cannot be ruled out.
