Uzbekistan is capable of increasing its gross domestic product to $160 billion by 2026. This was stated by the country's president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noting that such indicators are achievable due to the current economic potential, ongoing reforms, high activity of entrepreneurs, and expansion of international cooperation. According to him, with the competent use of available resources, the country can achieve significantly higher rates of development.

The head of state emphasized that in the global economy, qualified personnel and advanced technologies play a crucial role. He gave special importance to the development of industries with high added value, the growth of the high-income services sector, the introduction of bioengineering, modern agricultural technologies and water-saving solutions, as well as the development of "green" energy and waste-free production.

Separately, Mirziyoyev pointed out the importance of borrowing advanced foreign experience in the fields of education and healthcare. According to his assessment, training specialists for professions based on science and innovation could, in the next five years, allow Uzbekistan's economy to increase to $240 billion.
