Uzbekistan and Japan expand cooperation through the Japan Foundation

New projects in the fields of art, education and cultural exchange were discussed in Tokyo

On December 18, the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov met with the Chairman of the Japan Foundation, Shinya Kurosawa. The "Days of Culture of Uzbekistan" were held in Japan, including a concert at the "Ginza" Palace and a photo exhibition "New Uzbekistan".

During the meeting, specific areas of cooperation were discussed: expansion of exchange programs in art, theater and music, joint research of intangible cultural heritage, opening of Japanese language study centers and cultural clubs in educational institutions of Uzbekistan, provision of grants and scholarships for students, introduction of Japanese experience in digitizing cultural heritage, creation of virtual exhibitions and joint multimedia projects, as well as the development of a digital platform for cultural initiatives.

The parties noted that cooperation with the Japan Foundation contributes to strengthening mutual trust and friendship between peoples and is a key tool for further deepening cultural and educational interaction between Uzbekistan and Japan.
