As of January 1, 2026, the temporary reduction of customs duties on imports of small-displacement cars in Uzbekistan has ceased to apply. The benefits introduced in 2023 for vehicles with engines up to 1000–1200 cc have not been extended, and standard tariffs now apply to the import of new passenger cars.
Previously, the rate for cars with engines up to 1000 cc was reduced to zero, while for vehicles up to 1200 cc it was set at 5%. This made it possible to significantly reduce the customs burden and make passenger cars more affordable for the population. Following the cancellation of the benefits, the tariffs have been restored: for small-displacement cars up to 1000 cc, the rate is 15% plus 0.4 dollars per cubic centimeter; for engines up to 1200 cc, 15% plus 0.6 dollars per cc.
The cancellation of the benefits reflects an effort to level market conditions and restore the standard level of customs fees, which affects the cost of imported cars and competition in the country’s domestic automotive market.
