The UZCARD payment system has announced a strategic partnership with Discover Network, including Diners Club International, to expand global card acceptance in Uzbekistan. Discover and Diners Club cardholders can now make purchases and withdraw cash at POS terminals and ATMs throughout the country, making transactions convenient for tourists and business visitors.
The collaboration allows Discover Network to enter the Uzbek market using UZCARD's infrastructure, while local users benefit from global reach and compatibility of payment tools. UCMG CEO David Melikidze emphasized that the alliance strengthens the national payment system and supports local interests, while enhancing the country's attractiveness to international guests.
Discover Vice President Matt Sloan noted that the partnership benefits both commercial organizations and cardholders, expanding spending and transaction opportunities in the region. For UZCARD, the alliance with Discover Network is an important step in strengthening its international presence and solidifying its position on the global financial map.
