Uzbekistan and Russia are building an independent transport system

Uzbekistan and Russia are focused on creating an independent and sustainable transport infrastructure, less dependent on external factors. This was stated by the trade representative of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan, Konstantin Zlygostev, at the Sputnik Uzbekistan press center. Priority is given to multimodal transportation, digitalization of customs procedures, and the development of logistics centers and warehouse hubs.

The key areas remain the "North-South" corridor, which ensures diversification of logistics and access to southern ports, as well as strengthening routes through Kazakhstan with increased capacity. Special attention is paid to the integration of Russian e-commerce platforms into new Uzbek logistics centers.

In the future, the trans-Afghan corridor is being considered, which opens direct access to Pakistani ports and the markets of India and South Asia. According to Zlygostev, the development of these routes will strengthen the transport system of both countries and increase the stability of regional logistics.
