Uzbekistan's Automotive Market Gaining Momentum: Electric Vehicles Set the Tone

In 2025, new passenger car sales grew by 5.2%, with electric vehicles becoming the main driver of the market

In 2025, sales of new passenger cars in Uzbekistan reached 370,000 units, a 5.2% increase compared to the previous year, according to the Center for Economic Research and Reforms. The main impetus for growth came from the electric vehicle segment, which increased by 35% and amounted to 40.7 thousand units, with 71% of sales occurring in Tashkent.

Regional indicators show different dynamics: Syrdarya region leads with a growth of 45%, Tashkent region with 36%, Namangan region with 26%, and Kashkadarya with 21%. At the same time, a decrease in sales was observed in Tashkent and a number of regions, which demonstrates the heterogeneity of the market.

In the new car segment, domestic production maintains its leadership – 315,000 cars versus 53,300 imported ones. Experts emphasize that electric vehicles not only supported overall growth but also indicated a shift in demand, becoming the main trend in the market, which will be closely monitored in 2026.
