Uzbekistan continues to actively develop non-cash payments: as of January 1, 2026, there were more than 68.2 million bank cards in circulation, which is 6.2 million more than the year before. At the same time, the payment infrastructure expanded - the number of POS terminals increased to 430,762, and ATMs and information kiosks - to 40,090.

The volume of transactions through terminals in 2025 amounted to 460.3 trillion soums, which is 41% higher than the previous year. For comparison, at the beginning of 2025 there were 61.9 million cards, 426,225 terminals and 29,909 ATMs, and the turnover of non-cash payments reached 326.7 trillion soums.

The growth in the number of cards and terminals is ahead of population growth: according to statistics, as of January 1, 2026, the country's population was 38.2 million people. Thus, there are almost 1.8 times more bank cards in Uzbekistan than residents, which indicates a high degree of digitalization of the financial system and the popularity of non-cash payments.
