New Internet fraud schemes are spreading in Uzbekistan under the guise of promotions from «Ucell» and «Korzinka». The Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection has warned about the problem. According to the agency, fraudsters publish false messages about sweepstakes and bonuses on social networks in order to obtain citizens' personal data.
In one case, fraudsters promise 3 months of free communication allegedly from «Ucell», offering to go to the Telegram bot and enter personal information. In another case, they are spreading a fake drawing of 5 apartments and a certificate for 300 million soums for the 30th anniversary of «Korzinka», where participation also requires transferring your data through a bot.
The agency urges citizens to remain vigilant and not enter personal data, bank card details and SMS codes via dubious links. Such schemes are aimed at stealing information and can lead to financial losses.
