Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are strengthening industrial cooperation, focusing on joint production projects. This was stated by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan, Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev. According to him, the economies of the two states largely complement each other, therefore the development of cooperation is becoming one of the key areas of bilateral relations.
The diplomat noted that each country has its own resources and competencies that can be useful to a partner. The capabilities of Uzbek industry are of interest to the Kyrgyz side, while the resources and potential of Kyrgyzstan are also in demand for the implementation of joint projects and the development of production.
One of the clearest examples of cooperation is the production of Chevrolet cars in Kyrgyzstan. According to Niyazkhodjaev, about 3,000 cars were produced in the republic last year, which are already being used within the country. The project has also attracted attention at the international level: during the celebration of US Independence Day, the US Ambassador noted that he was pleased to see locally produced Chevrolet cars on the roads of Kyrgyzstan.
