Tashkent authorities plan to expand the paid parking system and attract several operators to manage them. Deputy Khokim of the capital, Abdurakhmon Bakhtiev, announced that additional sites will be divided into large lots of several hundred spaces and put up for auction. There are already 2-3 contenders, including not only Streetpark Systems, but also other companies.
The paid parking project started in 2024. According to the decree of Khokim Shavkat Umurzakov, it was planned to organize 13.2 thousand places by the end of August 2025, and in the future to increase their number to 84 thousand. At the auction in November 2024, it was proposed to invest at least $5 million in technical equipment, and the tariffs range from 5,000 to 12,000 soums per hour.
At the repeated auctions, Streetpark Systems obtained the right to manage parking lots for three years with a bid of 62.93 billion soums. Previously, Balcomuz offered about 120 billion soums, but the contract with the company was not concluded. New auctions will give other operators the opportunity to enter the market and accelerate the introduction of paid parking in the capital.
