"Smart" bus stops equipped with video cameras and emergency buttons have begun to be installed in Tashkent, the Center for Road Traffic Management (CRTM) reported. Each stop will have two cameras connected to a centralized surveillance system, as well as an "SOS" button for prompt response to emergencies. Special waiting areas are provided for people with disabilities.
In addition to security systems, electronic displays with bus schedules and vending machines will appear at the stops for the convenience of passengers. The CRTM notes that the innovations will increase the level of comfort and technological efficiency of urban transport.
Earlier, the city authorities decided to remove retail outlets from the territories of the stops in order to provide free space for passengers. These measures are aimed at improving the quality of service and creating a safer and more modern urban transport environment.
