Rosatom Discusses Creating an Entire "Atomic City" in Uzbekistan

The project could unite energy, education, and medicine in a single high-tech cluster

Rosatom is in negotiations with the authorities of Uzbekistan to create a so-called Atomgrad — a full-fledged city focused on specialists in the nuclear industry. The initiative was discussed at a high level, including with representatives of the country's presidential administration.

The idea is that it will not just be infrastructure near a nuclear power plant, but a comfortable environment for living with modern medicine, education, and a developed social base. The project aims to form a new generation of specialists who will be involved in the development of energy and other high-tech areas.

Thus, we are talking about a comprehensive approach: along with the construction of a nuclear power plant, an ecosystem is being created for training personnel and long-term development of the region. This could become one of the key elements of Uzbekistan's technological growth strategy.
