Tashkent is preparing for a cultural revolution: The President approved the "Great Silk Road"

Residential and commercial buildings, hotels, educational and cultural institutions, as well as modern public spaces will appear on 32 hectares

A large-scale project of the integrated cultural and public center "Great Silk Road" has been presented in Tashkent, which will become part of a new metropolis with 2 million residents. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the construction plans on the territory of New Tashkent: residential and commercial buildings, hotels, educational and cultural institutions, as well as modern public spaces will appear on 32 hectares.

The concept of the project includes thematic quarters dedicated to the civilizations of the Great Silk Road. The "Uzbekistan" quarter will demonstrate the history, culture and values of the country through architecture, streets and public areas. Special attention is paid to museums: a thematic museum of Imam Moturidi, a scientific and innovative museum of Bahauddin Naqshbandi with the "Yetti Pir" hall and an updated State Museum of the History of the Timurids with a modern exhibition design are planned.

The main goal of the initiative is to create a modern cultural and educational infrastructure, attract tourists, popularize national history on a scientific basis and strengthen the role of Tashkent as a cultural center of the region. The President approved the project and instructed to ensure its consistent implementation.
