From April 22, 2026, mobile banking applications will require a phone number in the owner's name

New cybersecurity and fraud protection rules

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has approved new cybersecurity and fraud protection rules for remote customer service.

From April 22, 2026, to work with banking applications and payment systems, it will be mandatory to use a phone number registered in the owner's name and corresponding to the PINFL.

If confirmation of compliance between the number and the PINFL is not passed, registration in the application or linking of the card will become impossible. Users will receive a notification via SMS about the need for confirmation.

Thus, numbers registered to other people will stop working with applications and cards after April 22. The bank recommends that you register the number in your name in advance or re-link cards and applications to your own phone. The measure is aimed at improving customer security and preventing fraud in remote transactions.
