Diesel Fuel Production Surges: Uzbekistan Sees Over 50% Increase

Record-breaking March and sharp January spike reshape the fuel market landscape

Uzbekistan has seen a sharp increase in diesel fuel production: at the end of January-March 2026, output reached 249 thousand tons. This is 54.5% more than in the same period last year, when the figure was 161.2 thousand tons. In absolute terms, the increase exceeded 87 thousand tons.

The main contribution to the growth was made by oil refineries and Uzbekistan GTL. The dynamics by month were uneven, but generally steadily positive. The sharpest jump occurred in January, when output reached 78.3 thousand tons — more than double the level of a year earlier.

In February, production amounted to 57.4 thousand tons, showing an increase of 20.3%. March became the most productive month of the quarter: enterprises produced 113.3 thousand tons of diesel fuel, which is 41.1% more than a year earlier. These indicators indicate a noticeable increase in domestic processing and a steady increase in the industry's capacity.
