Uzbekistan is preparing to launch online sales of medicines through marketplaces. The initiative is being developed by the National Agency for Perspective Projects in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and is part of the e-commerce development program approved by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the plan, each pharmacy will be integrated into the online ordering system and will be able to operate as a pick-up point. Special attention is paid to logistics: strict requirements are planned for courier delivery, including a ban on opening packages and the use of thermal containers for sensitive drugs.
The reform also affects the broader digital infrastructure — the development of bonded warehouses and new tax rules for goods sold over the Internet. It is expected that by 2030 the volume of online trade in the country will grow to 30 trillion soums, and the market will receive thousands of new jobs.
