Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a new IT park in Fergana, established to develop the digital economy and support young professionals. The facility was built on the instructions of the head of state and funded from the budget with approximately 150 billion soums.
Fergana is becoming one of the regional centers for IT development: the new complex is designed for up to 200 people to work simultaneously and can engage over 3,000 young specialists in training and projects annually. It features a co-working environment, offices for residents, and infrastructure for startups.
According to authorities, the IT sector in the region has already quadrupled, and exports have exceeded $23 million. Currently, 139 companies operate in the park, and after expansion, their number is expected to reach 200, with exports reaching $30 million. In the future, the site could become a hub for artificial intelligence technologies, educational programs, and venture support for startups.
