Representatives of Uzbekistan and Finland held talks on developing cooperation in the digital sphere. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Deputy Head of Traficom, Head of the Finnish Cybersecurity Centre, Anssi Kärkkäinen. The main focus was on strengthening dialogue between the regulators of the two countries and launching joint working formats.
Finnish approaches to the development of next-generation networks, including 5G and the prospective 6G, as well as radio frequency spectrum allocation, were discussed separately. In addition, the parties touched upon issues of expanding communication coverage in remote regions and implementing digital services that improve the quality of public services and infrastructure.
In the cybersecurity block, joint initiatives for network protection and exchange of threat response practices were discussed. Specialist training programs and the creation of a sustainable digital security system were also considered. Following the meeting, the participants confirmed their interest in deepening cooperation in telecommunications, cyber defense, and digital transformation.
