ZTE and Ucell Launch AI Networks in Uzbekistan

Mobile Communication Becomes Smarter and More Economical

The commercial deployment of AI-RAN technology, developed by ZTE Corporation in collaboration with the operator Ucell, has been launched in Uzbekistan. The solution is based on artificial intelligence and is already being used in the operator's network to improve energy efficiency and optimize the operation of base stations.

The system analyzes the load in real-time and automatically switches equipment to energy-saving modes when traffic decreases. At the same time, communication quality remains stable. According to the companies, network efficiency has increased by 10.6% in terms of data transmission per kilowatt-hour, which simultaneously reduces costs and decreases the carbon footprint.

The solution's architecture is built on a two-level model: one level is responsible for load forecasting and network management, while the other handles instantaneous decisions at the base station level. The system constantly monitors service quality and, if necessary, disables the economy mode to prevent communication degradation. The companies note that the technology is already demonstrating practical effects and could become the foundation for future "smart" mobile networks.
