Discussions on Uzbekistan's transition to a green economy were held in Tashkent. National stakeholders reviewed measures to develop environmental competencies and align policies in education, employment, and climate agendas. The meeting took place on May 25, 2026, and was part of preparations for systemic reforms.
Participants paid special attention to the integration of "green" skills into vocational and technical education systems, as well as higher education. This involves training specialists capable of working in a changing economy where environmental standards, energy efficiency, and sustainable development play an increasingly important role.
Following the discussions, the parties declared their readiness to move from theory to practical implementation of initiatives. Plans include updating curricula, strengthening institutional capacity, and improving coordination between agencies. The results obtained will form the basis of a national roadmap and will be used to expand regional cooperation within the CAREC program.
