Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, met with Sheikh Mansour bin Khalifa Al Thani, founder and chairman of the Qatari holding MBK Holding. The discussions focused on assessing the country's technological potential and opportunities for attracting investments in the IT sector.
The Qatari side was presented with reforms in the digital economy, the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem, as well as mechanisms for supporting startups and exporting IT services. The growth in the number of residents and the development of outsourcing, which is becoming one of the key areas of the industry, were discussed separately.
The negotiations focused on projects in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and e-government, which are overseen by UZINFOCOM. The parties also touched upon personnel training, human capital development, and legal guarantees for investors, including the expansion of international digital services and remote services.
