The Yandex Maps mobile application in Uzbekistan now offers the ability to broadcast one's geolocation in real time. The new feature is available to authorized users of iOS and Android smartphones and allows them to show their current location on the map to others.

The service can be useful during meetings in shopping malls, markets, festivals, and train stations, as well as in unfamiliar areas. Longer geolocation sharing can be used during trips out of town – for example, when traveling to Chimgan, Amirsoy, or Charvak Reservoir.

You can share your location through the page of a selected place on the map, a current position marker, or a special "Geolocation" section in your profile. The recipient will see the user on their map and can immediately build a route to them. After the broadcast ends, the marker automatically disappears. Yandex Maps notes that the feature will also be useful for foreign tourists who actively use the service for navigation in Uzbekistan.
