Uzbekistan's international reserves reached $64.35 billion as of August 1, 2026, increasing by $589.8 million, or 0.93%, in July. The main growth factor was the rise in gold prices, which holds a dominant position in the country's reserve asset structure.

The value of gold reserves increased from $55.76 billion to $56.12 billion during the month, although its physical volume decreased from 13.9 million to 13.8 million troy ounces. Thus, gold accounts for more than 87% of all international reserves of Uzbekistan.

At the same time, foreign exchange reserves grew from $7.44 billion to $7.65 billion. However, the volume of securities significantly decreased: from $2.86 billion to $1.76 billion. On the other hand, cash foreign currency and deposits increased from $4.58 billion to $5.89 billion.

Uzbekistan's funds in foreign banks increased from $3.39 billion to $4.66 billion. SDRs in the IMF also increased from $556.7 million to $572.4 million.

As a result, in July, the country's international reserves increased by almost $590 million, and their structure became even more dependent on the value of gold.
