Tashkent has launched the first 1.2-kilometer section of a BRT lane on Shahrisabz Street. It runs from the roundabout of Shahrisabz, Mirabad, and Shota Rustaveli streets to the intersection with Amir Temur Avenue. This is the first stage of a project that envisions creating dedicated infrastructure for buses on approximately a three-kilometer section of the street.

The road was practically rebuilt from scratch, designed for constant heavy bus traffic. In some sections, the soil was excavated by more than two meters, after which the base was reinforced with geotextile, a 35-centimeter layer of sand-gravel mixture, an M-75 strengthening layer, and two layers of asphalt concrete. A separate lane was allocated for public transport, physically separated from other lanes by curbs.

As part of the project, five new bus stops were also installed. According to the CDD's plan, BRT should reduce buses' dependence on traffic jams, make service intervals more stable, and improve safety when approaching stops. During the road construction, the road was not completely closed: work was carried out in stages, maintaining traffic in both directions.
